Geography
Muezersky District is located in the northwestern part of the Republic of Karelia along the border with Finland. The district borders on the north with the territory of the municipality of Kostomuksha, Kalevala district; from the east — with the Belomorsky, Segezhsky, and Medvezhyegorsky districts; from the south — with the Suoyarvi district; from the west along the State Border for 163.3 km — with Finland.

Transport accessibility is provided by federal and republican highways. The Kochkoma — Tiksha — Ledmozero — Kostomuksha — state-border highway provides international road connections. On this road, movement is carried out in the direction of the «Kola» motorway, the connection is in the area of the railway st. Kochkoma.
From north to south, there is the main railway, along which passenger flights are carried out with the communication Kostomuksha — Petrozavodsk, Kostomuksha — St. Petersburg, as well as a railway line from the st. Sukkozero to st. Lenders. In addition, a transport railway line from the st. Ledmozero to st. Kochkoma (Segezha district).
On the territory of the district, there is a simplified checkpoint Inari, Lendery settlement.

The basis of the district's economy is logging, crushed stone mining.
